Your half day canoeing adventure starts at Wyuna on the Lower Gouburn River National Park which is 25-km east of Echuca.
The river in this region is ideal for canoeing with only canoes and some local fishermen to be seen.
The pristine red gum forest supports a wide variety of water and forest birds, and if you’re really lucky you may get a glimpse of a shy platypus or two.Wyuna is just over two hours due north from Melbourne.
We contact you, following your booking, and arrange times and meeting places. On the day, we meet on the Murray Valley Highway then you follow us to Yambuna Bridge where your vehicle is safely parked.
We then will drive you upstream the appropriate distance and fit you with safety vests and dry bags for cameras and other personal items and you paddle off downstream to the bridge.

Wyuna-Yambuna on the Lower Goulburn River. Yambuna is 17-km north of Kyabram and 25- east from Echuca. Exact meeting point and supplier’s details are provided immediately after booking.
Additional Info
- Please wear casual and comfortable clothes and old shoes. You may get wet during the day and we recommend that you bring spare change of clothes to change into. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult. No canoeing experience is necessary.
- The minimum is two (2) however we can cater for larger groups.
- Numbers on the day: This experience is for 2 people. There may be others on the trip with you.
- Session length: This experience is available 7 days a week, all year round (except Christmas Day). The weekends and public holidays are particularly busy, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment. The half day tour usually starts at 10am and concludes at about 2pm.
- Please wear comfortable clothing and old footwear. Don’t forget a good hat and sunscreen. Children under 12 must be with their parents on these canoeing safaris. No prior canoeing experience is necessary as the river is very serene with spectacular scenery.
